Wow. I completely spaced my Wednesday post yesterday. I have to admit, I've been a bit scatterbrained lately. Book 2 is in the hands of my publisher, and I'm awaiting content edits. I think I said this last time I went through content edits, but it's a strange feeling. Remember when you graduated high school or college, and for the first time in your WHOLE life you didn't have any homework? It's like that. I feel kind of lost...like I should be stressed out, working on frantically piecing together a final draft, but I've got nothing on my plate. Apparently having nothing on my plate means I don't know what to do with myself. You'd think I'd be happy about that, feel free to enjoy the massive amounts of T.V. time I could enjoy, but it's an uneasy feeling... Maybe I'm becoming a write-o-holic...
In other news...you know that secret announcement I can't share anything about yet...yeah. I still can't share it. It's driving me crazy. Why must things move so slowly in publishing? I never thought I was part of that generation who has come to expect information immediately. I liked to think of myself as one of the old-schoolers who grew up without the internet or cell phones, but sadly...I've gone to the dark side. This new world of technology has made me impatient. I don't even want to imagine how long things used to take in publishing back when there was no email or cell phone notifications.
As I wait for content edits, luckily I do have something to look forward to. Tomorrow I'm being interviewed by
Scripts & Scribes for their podcast! I'm really excited about it but also nervous because unlike blog interviews, which I get to think about and plan before I tackle, I'll actually have to think of answers on the spot and speak them instead of write them...
What's going on in your writing world lately? Also, isn't that cartoon awesomely funny? HAahaha... (so true)
Love the cartoon. I'm starting a new project. Look forward to hearing your big news.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your project, Miranda :)
DeleteOh, I cannot WAIT to hear your big news!!! I actually pitched my book to an editor from TOR at the conference I went to last weekend and am combing through my submission a last time before I submit to her.
ReplyDeleteI am terrified. *laughs*
Good luck!! Let me know what happens!
DeleteI am actually writing out the fist draft to book two in my trilogy. Remembering to put my inner perfectionist aside and just write is always hard. Oh well, that is what edits are for - time to fix things!
ReplyDeleteHope you get to share your big news soon! *makes publishing world speed up*
Is your book being made into a movie? Is that what you can't tell us?
ReplyDeleteI didn't post yesterday but it was because I took a day off. Since I'm diving back into my manuscript, that will probably happen a lot in the next few months.
I wish! No...but I'll be announcing the big news on Wed. :)
DeleteI'm in the middle of a first draft, so I'm having a lot of fun. I can't wait to hear about your secret announcement. Should I keep my fingers crossed for you? Well, I will anyway just in case.
ReplyDeleteI base way too much of my life on Calvin and Hobbes :)
Good luck with your manuscript!
Deletestill working on book one. Finally got a synopsis written and up on my blog though, so that's a good step. (not a very good one. don't know how to write those.) Glad to hear you're done with book two. I'll read it anytime. ;)
ReplyDeleteI hate writing the dreaded synopsis! Good job for finishing it!
DeleteCongratulations on having Book 2 in the hands of your publisher. I understand that "dangling" feeling, though. When you've been working on a long project, and writing has become the way you spend your time, you expecting to go to the book from habit. I'm late in saying "good luck" in the interview. Hope it all went well.
ReplyDeleteThanks! The interview should be up soon :)
