What genre is Children of the Gods?
Young Adult Paranormal Romance/Adventure
What is Oppression about?
Here's the official blurb from the press release...
OPPRESSION tells the story of a young woman who discovers that she belongs to a secret society of individuals with extraordinarily long life spans and unusual abilities. Fearful of prophecies about their only daughter, her parents kept her hidden from the world – and the society – for as long as they could. But when their own untimely deaths leave her to fend for herself, the truth of her origins and the fateful prophecy find her at last. Joining the ranks of such widely popular works as the Twilight Saga, The Hunger Games, and the Mortal Instruments series, Mrs. Therrien's paranormal romance/adventure promises to be the next fan-favorite in its genre.
Elyse knows what it means to keep a secret. She's been keeping secrets her whole life. Two, actually. First, that she ages five times slower than the average person, so that while she looks eighteen years old, she's closer to eighty. Second, that her blood has a mysterious power to heal. For Elyse, these things don't make her special. They make life dangerous. After the death of her parents, she's been careful to keep her secret as closely guarded as possible. Now, only one other person in the world knows about her age and ability. Or so she thinks. Elyse is not the only one keeping secrets. There are others like her all over the world, descendants of the very people the Greeks considered gods. She is one of them, and they have been waiting for her for a long time. Some are waiting for her to put an end to centuries of traditions that have oppressed their people under the guise of safeguarding them. Others are determined to keep her from doing just that. But for Elyse, the game is just beginning - and she's not entirely willing to play by their rules.
Who is publishing your books?
Acorn Publishing
What advice do you have for someone trying to get published?
Go to a writers conference. Don't complain that it's too expensive. If you really want to be published, conferences are worth every penny. Save up if you have to, and GO. You'll be happy you did.
Are you done writing the Children of the Gods series or will there be a 4th book?
For now I am done. I need to write something new. I'm working on a more serious adult novel. Although, I'm not saying I won't write a spinoff sometime in the future. We'll see!
When will book 3 be out in France and Canada?
I wish I knew the answer to this. I do know that nothing will change with the French versions of the books. The covers will be the same, and they won't be pulled from the market while I re-release the English version.
The third book will be released through AdA in French. Release date is TBD.
Are you doing any book events?
Yes. See my events page.

Name something you're moderately addicted to?
Chapstick (LipSmackers to be precise. Can anyone have too many?)

Pretty high, I'm not going to lie. I play the occasional first-person shooter video game, love Firefly and Lord of the Rings. Don't judge.

Writing, of course, and reading. Thinking about writing (which I do A LOT). Also, pretending I know how to sew. Scrapbooking would be on the list if I had time, but I don't.

Two boys...which means I'm frequently dressed as a pajama jedi warrior wielding a plastic lightsaber.
