Feel free to read it here: http://cfitewrite.blogspot.com/2011/10/so-you-think-youre-writer.htmlAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02691497935668743387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-650043149805650106.post-63799417372777506432011-10-31T05:37:42.428-07:002011-10-31T05:37:42.428-07:00I usually don't tell people I'm a writer.....I usually don't tell people I'm a writer... I don't like that look that I often get that says, "Oh, this is just a phase, right, you haven't actually published anything..."

So I usually just go with, "I'm a teacher." :-) Which is true.

PS. Love the term pajama rat!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06181241692016438730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-650043149805650106.post-91876770352554361922011-10-31T03:11:57.340-07:002011-10-31T03:11:57.340-07:00I am enjoying meeting all the fellow writers on th...I am enjoying meeting all the fellow writers on the Warm Fuzzies Blogfest - so many funny anecdotes. I totally relate to the pajama rat problem - once you start writing it is totally absorbing.

My family is currently into buying themed 'onesies' (one piece fleecy garments a bit like a baby rompersuit but for adults!) - we have an Elvis and a pink piggy and a camouflage style. These are very cosy as the weather cools so now everyone is a pajama rat!

CONGRATULALTIONS on the new baby that is SO wonderful.

Emma CalinEmma Calinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02661631701340292529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-650043149805650106.post-86667478329675286632011-10-28T20:14:18.404-07:002011-10-28T20:14:18.404-07:00For the most part I've had positive reactions ...For the most part I've had positive reactions when I tell people I write. They want to know what kind of book I'm writing, if I've been published, and the most interesting question ~ how do I come up with all of my ideas.

Um, I'm a writer? I have an over-active imagination? I play pretend on paper? I buy them on ebay?

Only once did someone scoff at me when I said I was unpublished. Apparently to be a true writer (for him), you had to be published.

Congrats Jessica! You're a real writer!! At least to that guy now you are. You were always a true writer to me. ; )

Pajama rat - I'm going to have to remember that one. Helps me remember that though it will be a long tunnel, there is a light at the end of it. I recently took a leave of absence from my law practice to edit my first novel and begin the dreaded query letter process. I am becoming more and more of a pajama rat each day. I think I should start getting dressed like I am going to the office when I write from home, but I am so comfortable in my p.j. bottoms or my sweats. When I am comfortable I get more writing accomplished.

Love your storyMelissa Sugarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16268333458796847721noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-650043149805650106.post-63230629785863386122011-10-27T18:52:24.589-07:002011-10-27T18:52:24.589-07:00Haha! I try not to let their comments influence me one way or the other. Most of them don't exactly get what I write about since its paranormal romance/urban fantasy/dark lit. We had a guy staying with us for a few weeks to help my husband drive truck in the harvest, and he'd come home at night and be like, "You're getting on the computer AGAIN?" I was like, duh, this is what I do!! Non-writers totally don't get it. My husband is awesome, very patient, and I do try and portion out my time so the computer isn't the only thing I focus on. But I love that you brought your laptop into KFC, haha!Cortney Pearsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00774060537148628453noreply@blogger.com
