Writing World: ARC Reviews of OPPRESSION

Two weeks left until the release of OPPRESSION! I’m dying…sitting on the edge of my seat every day, cracking my knuckles, biting my lips. OH THE ANTICIPATION!

I got a pleasant surprise in the mail a few days ago, the final copy of OPPRESSION! I realize I’m using a lot of exclamation points here, but can you blame me?! I’ve been carrying the book around everywhere I go (wrapped in a plastic bag…I know that’s kind of crazy-pants, but I don’t want it to get hurt. It’s so pretty and perfect). I open it about every five minutes and stare at the pages. My book is a book, people!

ARCs were sent out a while ago, and reviews are starting to come in! I have butterflies just thinking about that…
So far the reviews have been AMAZING! Thank you so much ARC readers for your awesome feedback, enthusiasm, support, and LOVE. I'm so unbelievably grateful for every one of you, and I'm so glad you're all wearing "I love William" t-shirts J
This has been a fun ride so far, and it’s only just beginning.
Here are some of the things people are saying about Oppression (Children of the Gods #1):
“Oppression is an exciting debut featuring interesting characters and a great story line fused with Greek mythology. Jessica Therrien provides stellar writing that will draw readers in and leave them wanting more. I will definitely be waiting for more in the Children of the Gods series!” – Book Blogger, Ellz Readz

“This is a great read. Therrien balanced romance, action, and mythology perfectly. Even though Oppression is 300+ pages, it goes by fast. You'll be wrapped up in Elyse's twisted world, you'll fall in love with William (*swoon*), and you'll have your heart break for Anna and Chloe. I finished it quickly, and I'm still dying for more. The sequel cannot come out fast enough.” – Advanced Reader, Megan

“I seriously just read through Oppression in about 4 hours. LOVED it. Loved, loved, loved it. <3 Thank you for writing such a cool book! I want to find out what happens next SO bad. I can't believe I'm going to have to wait for a whole year! Agh! I'm dying here. And by the way... William <3 I think I'm still on a William high.” – Advanced Reader, Alexa

“From page one I could not put it down. I fell in the love with the lead characters, Elyse and William. Their old-fashioned love story had me holding my breath and rooting for them every step of the way. How long do we have to wait for the sequel?” – Advanced Reader, Holly

  6. Ahh, so excited for this! And as for the book in the plastic bag thing--I do that to protect books that I haven't personally written, so there's nothing weird at all about you doing that with your debut novel! Very excited for you :-)

  8. Very excited for you, Jessica. Use as many exclamation points as you like. It's totally fine. Just remember to breath. In, now out. In, now out. I just got recertified for my CPR training for my day job. Please don't make me come over there!
    ;)
